I am irritated by folks who want ‘God & Prayer’ back in school but won’t involve themselves in the school.

We are living in a multi-culture society and world. Whose religion or brand of Christianity do you want being prayed and taught in school?

We are to be part of that diverse & multi-culture world (John 17)

Jn 17:15 my prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. 17 Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. 18 As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.

We are to be the light of the world and the salt of the earth (Matt. 5).

Salt and Light.

Mt 5:13You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.

Mt 5:14 “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.  15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

We are to be, and do, like Jesus and the apostles – thriving in an ungodly society without trying to make it officially ‘righteous.’ In fact, those who were 'officially' righteous really bugged Jesus.

If your kids can’t cope in school – they won’t cope in society as adults. That does the kingdom no good at all and is exactly the opposite of what Christ taught.

Work on the heart achieves greater results in society than work on the public policy. Public policy is merely reflective of what is in the hearts and minds of society.

We change society by being 'salt and light' within society. Salt and light are positive basic ingredients in life...so, too, are we to be.

Be there liberally! Don’t light a match, turn on the floodlight of mercy and love! Salt is frequently used in seasoning to take away a bitter taste, or even to allow something to taste sweet.

What kind of taste are you giving the world around you?

…That they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
