I am irritated by people who would canonize King David of old – yet would probably demonize any momentary moral weakness of a Meter Maid. 

These are folks with whom you won't likely engage in dialogue about:

·        Judah’s hiring of a ‘prostitute’ being part of God’s plan

·        David’s racketeering and wife stealing

·        The overt sexuality and violence throughout the Old Testament

Yet this was all part of the panorama of man trying to walk with God – and it seems that God accepted them, flaws and all. 

So why do we now demand perfection from mortals in order to classify them as children of God?
