From Deuteronomy through the Gospels we find encouragement to "seek the Lord." That advice isn't intended for the non-believer, although it would be appropriate. It is intended for the believer.
I suspect that many Christians have 'lost the joy of their salvation' because they no longer actively "seek him with a whole heart."
Deuteronomy 4:29
says,
"But
if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you look for him
with all your heart and with all your soul."
Many things have been written about the curiosity of children and how it relates to their happiness, energy and enthusiasm for life. There seems to be a provable correlation between the loss of curiosity in adulthood and the loss of happiness, energy and enthusiasm for life.
Is that what happens in adult Christians? Do we lose our curiosity for the spirit world? Do we lose our curiosity for finding God in our daily mundane existence? Do we lose our curiosity in the force that drives the universe and yet is in the intricacy of the nano world of molecules and atoms?
Have we lost our curiosity in the God Who is there?
Matthew 7: 7 Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and
the door will be opened to you. 8. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks
finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
Go looking for God today...in everything.
